In Clinic Assessments

Prior to your initial appointment, we will ask you to undertake an initial assessment form, which is completed at home and returned via email to the clinic prior to your appointment.  We may also ask you to attend a, local to you, pathology centre for some fasting bloods to be taken.  We will often have these results in 48hrs.  Prior to your appointment our naturopath or nutritionist will evaluate your intake form, and use the information provided to help develop a treatment plan for you. These appointments can be completed in person in Perth or via zoom if you are in another part of Australia.   As part of our in clinic appointment, we will take some anthropometric measurements are noninvasive quantitative measurements of the body. Other assessments may include the following:

Bio-Impedance Body Composition

Using a registered medical device called a quadscan, this painless test provides us with essential information of your body composition measurements – measuring muscle, fat, water distribution and visceral fat, giving vital information particularly for those clients who are trying to lose or gain weight.  It provides excellent monitoring of weight management, muscle and tone fitness, health metabolism, healthy aging hydration and fluid distribution. By monitoring your cellular health and fluid distribution, we gain valuable insight into important aspects of your health.

Blood Glucose Reading

Taking a simple test can indicate how well your body is processing insulin, blood sugar levels that are too high or too low can indicate more serious conditions that require treatment.

Blood Pressure, Oxygen Saturation and Pulse Reading

Non-invasive tests which show your blood oxygen levels and whether you are maintaining your blood pressure.  High blood pressure increases your risk of heart attack, stroke, heart and kidney disease, as well as being closely linked to dementia.  We work on natural ways to keep your blood pressure within normal limits.

Heavy Metal Analysis

This assessment will detect ionic and free radical generating heavy metals. If present, your body will naturally eliminate a small proportion of your toxic metal build up via the urinary tract. Heavy metals that may be present in your urine are not visible to the naked eye but can be detected by a colourmetric system.

Iridology Analysis

The ‘eyes are the window to the soul’ is often quoted – in fact the eyes can give us significant information about what is happening in your body. Using a specialist iridology camera, we can take and store images of your eyes to identify areas that help us in providing you with a specific road map back to health.

Physical Exam Assessment

This is a key part of our assessment that can be invaluable in assessing a number of physical and nutrient deficiencies. This may include height, weight, hair, skin, nail, and grip strength analysis.

Urine Analysis

An assessment of your basic digestive, microbial, pH and eliminative channels, by looking at proteins, glucose, ketones, blood cells and other indicators give valuable information for monitoring and assessing your health.

VCS Test

Visual contrast sensitivity testing measures your ability to see details at low contrast levels and is often used in assessing neurological function and visual system dysfunction. Nutritional deficiencies, exposure to endogenous or exogenous neurotoxins and/or biotoxins, certain species of mould and the mycotoxins and microbial volitile organic compounds are some of the many things that can affect the ability to perceive contrast.

Zinc Status

Zinc is an “essential” trace element. Present in every cell, organ, bone, tissue, and fluid in our bodies it is particularly important for neurological function and immune health.  It has a role to play with allergies, intolerances, adrenal fatigue, leaky gut, skin issues including acne.
